Get to Know Dr. Huma Ansari

Dr. Ansari says that the best thing about her job is building personal connections with her patients while helping improve their health and confidence. As a people person, she loves that dentistry allows her to talk to the community every day and make everyone feel comfortable and cared for. She also enjoys the detail-oriented nature of dentistry because she values precision and quality. Her goal is for every patient to feel heard and treated like family rather than just another number.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
As a child, Dr. Ansari would accompany her mother to her regular dental appointments and remembers being fascinated not just by the treatments, but by the way her dentist cared for patients with such kindness, confidence, and grace. She saw how a calm voice, gentle hands, and genuine compassion could make someone feel safe. That experience stayed with her for years and planted the first seed.
As she grew older, Dr. Ansari had several career paths to choose from — medicine, engineering, and dentistry. But she wanted more than just a successful profession; she wanted a career that she would truly love for the rest of her life. It needed to be hands-on, detail-oriented, creative, and deeply personal. Dentistry felt like the perfect blend of everything. It allowed her to use her aesthetic sense while also helping people feel healthier, more comfortable, and more confident. She believes that dentistry is not just about teeth — it is about restoring confidence, easing fears, relieving pain, and building trust.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Ansari earned her first dental degree at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Mumbai, and she went on to open and run her own practice for over 15 years. After she came to the United States, she got her master’s in public health from Western Kentucky University followed by her DMD from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, graduating with high honors.
She then completed a one-year didactic Maxicourse with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, where she’s currently working towards an associate fellowship. She consistently takes different continuing education (CE) courses through both Spear Education and the Kois Center to stay updated with the latest advances and newest techniques in dentistry.
Dr. Ansari also maintains memberships in several professional organizations:
- American Dental Association
- Massachusetts Dental Society
- Boston District Dental Society
- American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
- American Academy of Implant Dentistry
- Academy of General Dentistry
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Ansari comes from a close-knit family that values education, hard work, compassion, and she’s proud to say that all of her siblings chose careers in dentistry! Away from the office, she and her husband both enjoy traveling and exploring new cuisines together, as they love learning about different cultures through food and experiences. Cooking is truly therapeutic, and some of her happiest moments are when she’s cooking with her kids, sharing recipes, laughter, and time together in the kitchen.
Fitness and wellness are very important to her, so she regularly practices Pilates and yoga, which help her stay physically and mentally centered. She routinely reads about personal growth and wellness, as she is always looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally. Beyond dentistry, she has a strong passion for fashion and interior design. Whether it is creating beautiful smiles, creating welcoming spaces, or appreciating personal style, esthetics find their way into every aspect of life. These hobbies help bring creativity, mindfulness, and warmth into both her personal life and dental practice.
